Not even a fan of Beyonce but daymn at 41 yold & 23 yrs into career maybe her BEST! Pure fire, soulful, melodic, infectious ah, actually different (no mumbling/bumbling trap ish), early 90s dance/techno at it's prime yet not a lazy retread.
Gen Z have NO semi clue who Robin S, Hadaway, Real McCoy etc are 😆.Fresh AF! Soo deserves to be smash of the summer into fall.
The Beat is made for voguers first off, it is what you call a Gay Mix, I get it she want to catch the new trend created by "POSE", what a typical opportunist. I wish she understood what house music at first is and what are the elements of house music. Ballroom beats are created to vogue like in this song, it is not a house track it is a vogue beat. I give the beat a 6, I give her vocal delivery and ability a 5. She is not taking it higher and a house Jam is vocal power first, check Mariah Carey, not a house queen but she did her due diligence vocally. This is a commercial work, not in line with the artform or origin of house music. This is made for the gay kids in the gay houses in NYC who vogue. It is not made for the masses of house music lovers, it is not coming from the heart, her heart is not in it, it shows when she sings it, her delivery is weak, she missed the mark for me. the ruling house divas in Newark New Jersey are probably laughing. Ask Adeva, Carol Sylvan or Barbara roy how to bring it like a true house queen. but good this might start the rebirth of house music.
